STUDENT HOUSING

Globe Alumni Student Assistance Association provides practical housing resources to college students in New York City. By identifying safe, convenient, and affordable housing for college students, Globe Alumni helps many students realize the dream of attending college in New York City. Whether you are moving from across town or from around the world, Globe Alumni will work to provide you with housing resources.

With housing prices rising in New York City, Globe Alumni has identified affordable and practical housing within a 30 minute commute of Globe’s downtown campus. All rooms come with basic furnishings. The prices include all utility fees such as gas, electricity, water.

HOUSING PRICES FOR SPRING & SUMMER 2007**

Shared Room                                   $3000* per person each semester
Single Room                                    $5000* per person each semester

*All payments must be paid in full before the beginning of the semester and other fees may apply.
** Prices could vary and are subject to change without notification.

 

Things to Bring:

  1. Sheets, pillow, pillow case, blanket (twin size)
  2. Towels
  3. Toiletries: shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.
  4. Cleaning supplies: sponge, Windex, paper towels, shower cleaner
  5. Plates, Cups, Bowls, Pan, Cooking Pot, Utensils
  6. Pictures of your friends and family
  7. A diary or notebook

 

Things to Remember:

  1. New York has four seasons with cold winters and hot summers. Bring appropriate clothing including a jacket, sweaters, etc. for winter and shorts, short-sleeved shirts for summer. Remember dressing in layers keeps you warm. Don’t forget your hat and gloves.
  2. Leave all valuable and irreplaceable articles at home. Please do not bring expensive jewelry or rare articles.
  3. Purchasing a cell phone that operates in the United States is recommended as a way to keep in contact with everyone in the U.S. Buying international phone cards here in the U.S. will allow you to talk to family and friends at home.
